Abigail Beall is a science journalist with a focus on physics, astronomy and cosmology. She has a master's degree in physics from Durham University, UK, and an MA in science journalism from City, University of London.
Abby is currently a features editor at New Scientist and writer of the monthly column Stargazing at Home. She has written about everything from why we need more female astronauts and whether reality exists when we aren't looking to an abridged inventory of the universe. She is the author of The Art of Urban Astronomy: A guide to stargazing wherever you are and co-author of three popular science books for Dorling Kindersley.
Before joining New Scientist, Abby spent five years working as a freelance journalist. During this time, she regularly wrote for BBC Future, Wired and BBC Science Focus. She has two dogs.
